Elton John's The One (video)

Elton John's The One is an absolutely favorite song of mine. Whenever I listen to this song, I just picture myself in a large field somewhere with the sun shining down on me. This song brings a lot of emotions to your heart and soul. You just have to turn off the lights and listen to this song.

  Alone Again with Love I remember the times we were together. They were the happiest moments in my life. All those memories were so happy, but now, there’s nothing here with me. I’m alone without you, with no one to talk to. Can you see you’ve hurt me badly? My love for you was true. What’s left to say when you’ve left me? Nights are cold without you, and sometimes I wish I’d never met you because then my heart won’t be broken right now. Had I never met you, then my dream won’t be dying today, and I’d be happy without you here. Had you not loved me the way you did, I wouldn’t have to remember of those loving nights together. A Look Back - Favorite Author: Lois Duncan

One of my favorite authors whose novels I loved to read during my teenage years was Lois Duncan. I was very sad to hear of her passing in 2016.  I read many of her teen, horror, thriller books including I Know What You Did Last Summer, Down a Dark Hall, Summer of Fear, and Killing Mr. Griffin. For me, the early 1990s represented a time when teen horror fiction novels were on the rise. Duncan was one of the authors who really captivated my interests even though most of her novels were written in the 1970s. However, the novels really pulled in a wider audience in the 90s with the teen/horror/thriller/suspense genre picking up thanks to many other authors including Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine, etc. Many of Duncan's novels are also not that long, which was how many of the young teen fiction novels were during this period.
